About the Artist

Welcome — I'm Lynn Maynard, and I've been painting professionally for 35 years, trained originally at art school and working ever since in oil, acrylic and watercolour.

A Suffolk-Based Painter

Suffolk is home, and it's also my most constant subject: the Stour Valley made famous by Constable, the county's quiet coastal towns, and the gardens and wildflowers that change with every season. I paint en plein air whenever I can, often alongside the East Suffolk painting group, chasing the particular quality of light this part of England is known for.

Beyond Suffolk

Alongside my English landscapes, I've also painted extensively in the Caribbean, drawn to the completely different colour and light of Grand Cayman and the British Virgin Islands — a contrast that keeps my palette and my eye fresh between trips home.

Original Paintings and Prints

Every original painting in my shop is a one-of-a-kind piece, and where a scene has proved popular I also offer signed, limited-edition prints so more people can bring a piece of that landscape into their own home.
